Desertscene are ecstatic to announce that Massachusetts heavy psych trio Elder will be over for a tour of the UK from October 10th to 14th.

As reigning kings of the stoner rock scene, Elder are a band who have grown not just in their reputation but also their sound. Their self titled debut album saw the band showcase an impressive array of straight-up stoner riffs gaining them early acclaim. After evolving into something more based in heavy psych with 2011's Dead Roots Stirring, the band reemerged last year with the masterful Lore, which injected a dose of prog into the band's sound. As a result, Elder's live shows are stuffed with the best aspects from all corners of the stoner scene.

Riding high on an incredible 2015, which saw the band get top spot in both the editors and readers album of the year polls over at The Obelisk with the staggering Lore, Elder have capitalised with stunning live performances, including their triumphant slots at this year's Desertfests in London and Berlin.

They will be joined on all dates by crushing doom-sludge hybrid Cough, whose recent release Still They Pray has proven they're one of the most grimly brutal acts around Also on the bill for all shows but Bristol are UK desert rockers Steak, bringing their contemporary twist on Kyussian riffage. On the Bristol leg of the tour, they will be joined by Elephant Tree, who infuse their stoner/doom goodness with sitar to cover all the bases of psychedelia.

Sure to be one of the best shows of the year, at every city this tour hits, we imp-lore you to get your tickets today.

If you're in town for the London show, why not pop down the road to The Dev and visit Chris Alliston's art exhibition? Chris is a Liverpudlian illustrator who has designed phenomenal tour posters for Elder, The Melvins, Conan and Mastodon among others. He also works as art director for Moonshine Skateboards designing board prints and clothing for the brand and has had his artwork used in countless publications.

The exhibition is free to enter and will run from doors opening to doors closing between the 3rd and 11th October. Whilst there, you'll have the chance to browse or purchase his artwork, including posters, some signed by the bands who used them, skateboards and album covers. And a little bird tells us, Elder might be dropping in while they're over to check it out too.
