Desertscene are proud to announce that "one of the last true bastions of punk rock ideology in the contemporary musical age", The Dwarves will be stomping around The Underworld, Camden on Tuesday July 10th.

Formed in Chicago in the mid 80s, and now tearing about San Francisco, Dwarves proudly wave the punk rock flag in everything they do; musically or otherwise. Centred around founding members, vocalist, Blag Dahlia and guitarist, HeWhoCannotBeNamed (sporting his signature luchador mask and jockstrap combo), the band have earned a notorious reputation for pushing the boundaries of taste. Chaotic shows, on stage injuries and off stage stunts - see the hoax announcement of HeWhoCannotBeNamed’s fatal stabbing - have ensured Dwarves is an infamous name.

That same chaos runs through the band’s sound, which reaches throughout the punk landscape, from garage to hardcore to something a little stranger. Always deafening, always breakneck fast and always guttural, Dwarves have been testing what’s acceptable from Horror Stories right up to their latest album Take Back the Night.

Main support for the night comes from a Dwarves collaborator in the shape of Nick Oliveri Death Electric. Having helped us launch Desertscene Apparel back in November with his uniquely powerful Death Acoustic, Nick Oliveri is back and this time he’s plugging in. One of the most recognisable faces in the heavy scene, having played his part in Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age and more, Oliveri more than lives up to his reputation, oozing intensity whenever he’s on stage. We can’t wait to get electric.

Also on this jam packed bill are Hastings' newest Haest. Made up of members of Wizard Fight, Matildas Scoundrels, The Barracks and Dead Anyway, Haest promise to bring punk, hardcore and sludge to The Underworld. Opening the night are The Hip Priests whose garage driven punk should get things going early. So for a wild night with some of the most energetic and unpredictable acts in heavy music today, get down to The Underworld on July 10th.
