Desertscene are proud to announce that the psychedelic black metal explosion of Oranssi Pazuzu is coming to The Dome on the 21st June.

Finland’s Oranssi Pazuzu play the heaviest space rock in the world, challenging everything you know about psych. A revelation to many when they played Desertfest in 2016, Oranssi Pazuzu’s psychotic concoction layers elements of black metal with roving psychedelia; Imagine being punched through the solar system and you’re close to capturing their sound. After forming in 2007, the band quickly set to work on their mission of fusing styles into a gritty ball of cosmic filth. Their first release, Muukalainen Puhuu, achieved this, creating the aural embodiment of a tragedy at a fairground. Their following albums, Kosmonument, Valonielu and Värähtelijä respectively, walked further down that bizarre path, the latter introducing further levels of drone to the mix.

Joining them are 11Paranoias, whose sludgey freakout doom will get things bleak early on. Hatching out from under the skin of Ramesses in 2011, it’s a given that 11Paranoias are wont to tread a dark path, though one that often intersects with the psych deviances of Mike Vest (also of Bong). A quite frankly monstrous wall of reverberation, the night is gonna get loud early on.
