Desertscene are proud to announce that we'll be bringing two fine examples of the latest generation of doom from opposite edges of the US; Toke and Year of the Cobra will be bringing the best of low and slow to Camden's The Black Heart on 28th May.
Representing the East coast, Wilmington, North Carolina's Toke have been tearing up the US doom scene since 2014. Introduced via 2015's self-titled EP, a release which showcases the band's crunchy, fuzzed-out power, it was clear from the off that Toke are set to be major players of the downtuned sound. It's their 2017 debut full length Orange, however, which threatens to be a future classic in the heavy scene. From plodding opener Within the Sinister Void to the aggression of closing track Four Hours for Hours, Toke inject boatloads of energy into the often lethargic world of doom.
Further out West, in the Emerald City of Seattle, you'll find Year of the Cobra, who, as you'd expect from a near 3000 mile separation, bring an entirely different sound; hovering around the more psychedelic edges of doom, the duo of Year of the Cobra bring to mind Electric Wizard at their best. Groovy as all hell, their 2016 release ...In Shadows Below was one of the albums of the year and we cannot wait to see them perform live.
So for a night of diverse doom, book your tickets today for Toke and Year of the Cobra at The Black Heart on 28th May.
